Pod Group Announces Two Key Appointments as it Expands its Presence in APAC

Pod Group, a provider of platforms, software and connectivity services for the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected enterprises has today announced two key director-level appointments in its APAC office.

Peony Wong joins Pod Group as Business Development Director, Asia Pacific and Robin Roberts has been appointed Global Head of Partnership Solutions. Both will be based in Pod’s APAC office in Hong Kong but will work closely with Pod’s other global offices in Europe, the USA and Central America. Robin, particularly, will focus on developing relationships with OEM partners and solution providers in both Asia and the USA. 

Peony has wide experience in the telecoms sector in APAC, having worked in business development roles within multiple MNOs and telecoms service providers in the region. She joins Pod from Certizen Limited, the operator of Hongkong Post e-Cert services where she was in charge of business development and go-to-market strategy. Previous roles include business development positions at CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited and leading MNO SmarTone.

Robin has extensive telecoms experience, through senior leadership roles including Americas Vice President for Maestro Wireless Solutions (now part of Lantronix Mobility Solutions) and Partner and Asia-Pacific Managing Director at NextTen Consulting. He has held numerous roles at Motorola, including Hong Kong Networks Business General Manager and Asia-Pacific Director of Core Network Solutions.

At Pod Group, Peony is leveraging her track record of successful business development in the carrier, ICT, & mobile industry as well as strong connections with Chinese MNOs and service providers to develop opportunities for expansion in APAC. Robin is responsible for the establishment of strategic relationships with key IoT/M2M equipment OEM’s, integrators and solution providers, particularly for the deployment of Pod eSIM/eUICC based connectivity, management and security offerings.
