Pod Group Announcements at MWC 2019
This year Pod Group’s participation at MWC is focused on the latest features of our modular platform, which brings together IoT connectivity, security and billing in one intuitive interface. On the connectivity side, we are pleased to announce an agreement with Arm which will lead to some exciting new developments in our eUICC solution.
The eUICC specification is a key element of our offering and can be deployed either as an embedded chip or on a removable SIM card. This enables IoT hardware manufacturers and applications developers to future proof their devices by updating multiple profiles OTA (Over The Air), which is particularly important for remote or mission critical applications where the devices are difficult to access. It also reduces the cost of manufacturing and makes scaling the application globally infinitely easier.
Our R&D team is dedicated to developing innovative SIM technology which, when combined with the eUICC standard, converts the eUICC chip into the nerve centre of the device, enabling a whole range of commands to be executed to control its behaviour in the field. Together with the flexible remote provisioning provided by Arm Kigen SIM solutions, this technology will be deployed across our SIM base, allowing customers to address specific connectivity issues related to their sector and adapt the behaviour of their devices depending on market conditions. Watch this space for further announcements on this exciting initiative.
On the security side, following our announcement at CES earlier this year that Pod Protect, our advanced network monitoring and threat detection solution will be included as standard in all of our connectivity products, we will be demonstrating the benefits of heuristic analysis and machine learning to detect the latest threats on the network. Pod Protect keeps devices free from attack whilst allowing applications to be scaled globally. Visitors to the stand will be offered a free IoT security health check to highlight any weak points that need protection and to flag up existing threats so they can be addressed before they spread across the network. The health check includes a free trial of Pod connectivity as well as access to the modular platform to receive real-time updates on the status of the network and an information pack including a detailed report of the threats detected.
Visitors to the stand will also experience a demo of the latest features on the Pod Billing module, which enables hardware manufacturers, systems integrators and applications developers to quickly create and launch subscription-based products and services and bill an infinite hierarchy of distributors and resellers. This turnkey billing platform is technology agnostic and allows easy API integration with existing connectivity and device management platforms, or the option to use Pod’s connectivity module with access to 600+ networks in 185 countries globally. The platform enables custom invoicing at every stage of the hierarchy, allowing users to generate recurring revenue throughout the value chain.
Come and visit us at MWC19 on booth 7A11.12 to meet the Pod team and for more information on any of our products and services. We look forward to seeing you there!
