Ingenu and Pod Group Announce First Strategic Partnership for Distribution of RPMA Technology
Pod Group expands its cellular IoT connectivity offering into the LPWA space with Ingenu’s RPMA technology
Ingenu Inc.™, the pioneer in delivering connectivity exclusively to machines, and Pod Group, the expert in connectivity for the machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) industries, have today announced a strategic partnership that will enable both companies to expand their connectivity offering to the M2M and IoT market in the US and beyond.Pod Group will be the first distribution partner of Ingenu’s RPMA (Random Phase Multiple Access) technology designed specifically and exclusively for wireless machine-to-machine communication. This signifies an important strategic move for Pod Group, whose M2M/IoT connectivity solutions have, until now, been based on cellular technology. This agreement will allow Pod Group to expand its solution portfolio into the Low-Power, Wide-Area (LPWA) space, opening up new opportunities in rapidly expanding verticals such as smart cities and smart grids, as well as providing a reliable, scalable, and above all, long-term alternative to cellular connectivity for customers across all sectors.
“The decision by most US cellular carriers to sunset their 2G networks has highlighted the need for systems integrators and applications developers to build agnostic solutions that can be quickly adapted to changes in the market,” commented Sam Colley, CEO of Pod Group “Pod Group is committed to providing connectivity solutions that will help its customers achieve this goal. The addition of Ingenu’s RPMA technology to our range of multi-network and multi-IMSI cellular services will give customers the ability to build flexible and future-proofed applications.”
“Ingenu’s partnership with Pod Group will provide IoT application developers with a powerful alternative to cellular connectivity,” said John Horn, CEO, Ingenu. We look forward to collaborating with Pod Group as we expand the global reach of RPMA technology across a variety of industries.”
Pod Group and Ingenu are closely aligned in that both companies have a strong focus on research and innovation. Pod Group’s mission since its inception in 1999 has been to investigate and develop new ways of giving the control of the connectivity back to its customers. Ingenu’s RPMA technology has been designed specifically with these requirements in mind and the result is a technology that provides unprecedented coverage, capacity and scalability, extreme battery life, full-featured value, and decades of network longevity. With its use of one global wireless band and design exclusively for machine-specific communication, Ingenu ensures that devices on its RPMA network can remain untouched in the field for decades.
