Aerospace Contractor -- A large U.S. aerospace contractor for NASA had won the contract for a substantial portion of the International Space Station ('ISS') program, and was seeking experienced spacecraft desingn engineers to act as goodwill ambassadors to the members of the American public . Pod Consulting Group was retained in the business development role, interfacing with astronauts and U.S. tax-payers. The firm also worked extensively with NASA on new program development for ongoing utilisation of the ISS, including the unpressurized external pallet program, the biological centrifuge, and the materials exposure facility.
Satellite Operator -- A satellite operator based in Bermuda had acquired the distressed assets of a failed Asian satellite company. Pod Consulting Group was engaged to act in the business development role, negotiating transponder lease agreements with customers in India, China, and Indonesia. Pod Consulting Group also worked directly with venture capitalists, investment banks and strategic partners for investment in satellite venture. From Seed and Series A through Series D and several large tranches of debt, Pod Consulting Group was instrumental in the close of all financing for this client.
Music Label -- The first implementation of digital rights management (DRM) technology on a large scale, originally developed for DirecTV satellite television. An entertainment and technology consortium had been created to launch a secure consumer music downloading service. Early iterations of system had failed during trials, and it had become imperative to create an industry-sponsored alternative to popular peer-to-peer downloading networks. Pod Consulting Group was engaged to develop the business elements of technology implementation including product pricing, bundling and superdistribution strategy, billing and customer care architecture, and creation of an enhanced user experience.
